This section consists of attempts to make sense of topics that have tended to divide opinion. Generally I am trying to see it from both sides, be balanced and 'reasonable'. But of course I don't always come down in the middle!  Many might think I often come down on the 'wrong side', and I take that as an indication that I am genuinely trying to rethink things from the bottom up, not simply follow ideological tramlines.

Some of the topics I have chosen specifically because I disagree with what might be considered the 'green orthodoxy'. Green orthodoxy usually has a respect-worthy origin in trying to do the right thing. But sometimes it becomes clear that  persists past its sell-by date, and needs challenging simply in order to maintain the essential deeper values of the green movement -- that I assume most people share, but perhaps don't know it.
